I am sure everyone knows about car pooling and the benefits of sharing among friends. Can we do 'car pool' for Internet access? Yes, we can, especially when you stay in condo.

Are Wi-Fi Sharing or Wi-Fi Pooling for you?
Nowadays (as of 2016 April), broadband service can easily go up to 100s of Mbps in Malaysia. Time provides broadband service up to 500Mbps. Normally, we are not able to utilize the bandwidth completely, therefore why not share the service with our good neighbors. Make the max. out of it.

How it works?
It works the same way as sharing wi-fi access in Starbucks or any kopitiam. Yes, you can only share within the wireless range. You only share the password to connect to your wireless router and nothing else. You do not share any of your account details.

What we do not do?
We do not involve in your sharing deal, 5/5, 6/4, 7/3,... or free sharing. It is all up to you guys. We only send a group mail to matching people to connect you guys together.

A3M - Account Authentication & Authorization Module for CodeIgniter

I found this very cool login module for CodeIgniter called A3M. It has a great OpenID module, and it supports of all the major openid providers (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo). I am testing A3M Peanutbutter for CI2.0

Get Started
1) Download A3M.
2) Extract to web folder.
3) Create a folder for storing user profile picture, <site>/resource/user/profile
4) Create a database.
5) Run a3m_mushmellow.sql file to create tables and basic data.
6) Perform the following update because MySQL 5.0 does not allow default value for text type.
Method 1: Go to ci_session table, change column user_data from not allow null to ALLOW NULL.
or
Method 2: Alternatively, you can change the lines in a3m_mushmellow.sql file before you run step 5. Remove NOT NULL.
From To CodeIgniter Configurations
1) Go to CodeIgniter configuration folder, <site>/application/config
2) Define values for files, config.php and database.php

A3M Configurations
1) Go to A3M configuration folder, <site>/application/modules/account/config
2) Define values for files, account.php, facebook.php, recaptcha.php and twitter.php

PHP Unzip - extract file at host server

You need to unzip/extract most of installation files before you can start installing. You can download using PHP Download and unzip/extract file with PHP Unzip.

How do you install a program you found in Internet to your hosting server?
Previously, I would download the installation file to my laptop then upload it to hosting server using FTP client.
Now, you can download file directly to hosting server. This really save a lot of time.
